Full Mortality

Madden Equine Insurance will provide Full Mortality insurance coverage for death because of injury, illness, humane destruction, and transportation anywhere in the continental United States or Canada. It also includes loss or death as a result of theft. The premium rate is based on the horse's use, breed, and age. Veterinarian certificates are not required for horses valued up to $100,000, depending on the company.

Automatic Colic Surgery Coverage

At no extra cost, the Full Mortality policy includes emergency colic surgery coverage up to $3,000. This is dependent upon the value of your horse.

Agreed Value

In the event of a mortality claim, if the value of the horse at any time during the policy period was equal to the limit of indemnity, you will be paid the value amount stated in the policy. Full Mortality policies include Agreed Value.

Major Medical & Surgical

Coverage is provided for the cost of medical and surgical procedures, including diagnostics as a result of accident, illness, or disease. This insurance is available for horses from 31 days to 20 years old.

Equine Catastrophic Accident and Illness

Surgical Only

Coverage is only for the cost of actual surgery and up to a maximum of 100% of that cost for approved nonsurgical medical fees incurred during 30 days after surgery. The annual aggregate limit is $5,000, not subject to any deductible cost per illness, injury, or incident. This policy is available for horses ages 6 months to 17 years old.

Guaranteed Extension Coverage

In the case of a condition occurring and reported during the policy period, mortality coverage will automatically continue for up to 12 months from the expiration date for that specific condition. Coverage applies to horses ages 24 hours to 20 years old.

Stallion Infertility A, S, & D

If your proven stallion becomes permanently incapable of settling mares in foal as a result of accident, sickness, or disease, you will be paid up to 100% of the indemnity due under the mortality policy. Coverage is not available for stallions in their first breeding season.

External Injury Loss of Use

In the event your horse is permanently no longer able to perform its insured function as a result of a visible, external, accidental, or violent injury, you will be paid up to 50% of the amount of indemnity due under the mortality policy. Coverage is available for horses ages 2 to 20 years old, for select uses only. Loss of Use insurance requires Major Medical and Surgical or Surgical Only coverage.

Full Loss of Use

In the event your horse is permanently no longer able to perform its insured function, you will be paid up to 50% of the amount of indemnity due under the mortality policy. Coverage is available for horses ages 2 to 12 years old, for select uses only. Loss of Use insurance requires Major Medical and Surgical or Surgical Only coverage.
